Joining the Family is an initiative to help churches to understand, love, equip and learn from believers of Muslim backgrounds.
Growing numbers of Muslims from a variety of ethnic backgrounds are choosing to follow Jesus Christ. They want to join Christ’s community, whether in traditional churches or in same background fellowships - sometimes both simultaneously.
We long for them to find a welcome and sense of family, grow and thrive as disciples, and bless others through their gifts and experience. Churches need to understand their needs, care for them and support them through their growth in Christ. We also want to, and need to, learn from them. Their insights can help us to grow in our faith, and their journey will help the church prepare for a day when multitudes will come into our family.

What we do
RESOURCES
Materials to help churches and individuals to learn about and reflect on topics relating to believers of Muslim background joining the family of Christ. The voices and insights of believers from different Muslim backgrounds, church leaders, and experienced Christians are all heard.
EQUIPPING
In order for as many as possible to benefit from the concepts in JtF, we offer different access points. It could be a taster session for theological colleges, tailored seminars for your conference, or joining an online Zoom course with people from different places if you’re not yet ready to run the course in a local church.
NETWORKING
We learn more, and are encouraged, when we connect with others involved in similar activities, especially sometimes when from a different context. Our network gatherings, interactive forum, and focused connections offer a space for peer support and learning.
PARTNERING
Where possible we like to partner with others- whether it is in translating JtF materials, working together on adapting training for a specific context, signposting to recommend one another’s resources, or undertaking joint research to uncover new insights.
Whilst the JtF initiative started in the UK, people are finding that many of the concepts and ideas are relevant in other parts of the world, and are adapting the materials for local use.
We work alongside and partner with other groups who share our prayer that local churches will truly become churches for all peoples and cultures.
